Free Preview of Red Trousers on Your TiVo
TiVo is really moving ahead strong with the broadband delivery of video content. First was the CNet product review videos and now it’s an exclusive preview of the martial arts movie Red Trousers.
While it’s great to see TiVo venturing into new areas such as delivery of video to your DVR via broadband, when will it be something I actually want to watch? The CNet videos are basically commercials and this exclusive preview of Red Trousers is really nothing more than a movie trailer.
Yes, I like the fact that TiVo is still going ahead with this even after the death of the Netflix deal. But if they don’t get some real content soon, this whole technology will die a quick death.

It isn’t a trailer - it is the ENTIRE MOVIE.

RED TROUSERS is presented through TiVo Video Download in its unrated version, in widescreen letterbox, with English and Cantonese soundtrack and English subtitles. Parental discretion is advised. Running time is approximately 96 minutes.

And the NetFlix deal isn’t dead, I wish I knew who started that meme. NetFlix and TiVo are still actively working together, the rollout is delayed until NetFlix can negotiate distribution agreements. But they have not abandoned it, and even when announcing the delay stated they would continue to work on the technology in anticipation of negotiating licenses in the future.
